The residual value of leasing

If you are in the market to lease a vehicle, you will hear the term
“residual value” recur like a leitmotif. A residual value does not only
affect your monthly payments, but is equally used by leasing companies
to determine any penalties should you break your lease early and how
much to pay if you decided to buy the vehicle at the end of your lease.

Let us first start by looking at the meaning of residual value. The
term “residual value”, refers to the value of something after it has
been used for some time. In leasing lingo, it refers to the
depreciation of the vehicle’s value over the life of its lease.
So how does it exactly affect your monthly payments? When you lease a
car, you pay for the car’s value that you use over the lease length.
Suppose you leased an $18,000 car for 2 years: the leasing company
needs to estimate the value of this car in two years time in order to know
how much of the car you will be using during your lease term. That’s where
the “residual value” comes into the equation. If the residual value is
estimated to be $13,000 at the end of your lease, then your monthly
payments will be calculated on the $5,000 you will use over 24 months,
giving an average monthly payment of $208.3 (plus interest, tax and fees).
How about if the car is expected to lose half its value over the same
period? In this scenario, you will be using $9,000 over the same period,
leaving you with a higher monthly payment of $375 (plus interest, tax and
fees).
As you can see, residual values are a key factor in determining how much
money to pay on your lease and the higher the residual value, the lower
your monthly fees. This works in reverse if you build a bond with your car
and decide to purchase it at the end of your lease. If we stick with the
same example above, the lower monthly payments in the second scenario come
at the cost of paying substantially more to buy your car at the end of the
lease.


So, since the residual value is so important, how do I know which one is
best for me? Well, it all depends whether you want to purchase the car at
the end of your lease. If you don’t want to make a large down payment and
you want low monthly payments, then a car that holds with a higher residual
value is a good deal. If you are thinking of purchasing the car at
lease-end, then you need to balance low-monthly payments with a moderate
residual value.

Why You Should Choose Diesel

The major distinction between diesel and gas lies in
the type of ignition.  While gas engines operate on
spark ignition, diesel engines employ compression
ignition for igniting the fuel.  With compression, the
air is drawn into the engine and subjected to high
compression that heats it up.  The result is a very
high temperature in the engine, much high than that
of gas engines.

In diesel engines, air and fuel are both infused into
the engine at different stages, as opposed to gas
where a mixture of air and gas are introduced.  The
fuel is injected into the diesel using an injector
where in a gas engine, a carburetor is used for this
very purpose.

With gas engines, fuel and air are sent into the
engine at the same time, then compressed.  The air
and fuel mixture will limit fuel compression, and
thereby hence the overall efficiency.  Diesel engines
only compress air, and the resulting ratio can be
much higher.

Diesel engines are much more efficient and
preferable as compared to gas engines due to the
following reasons:
1.  Diesel engines have overcome the several
disadvantages of earlier models that featured higher
noise and maintenance costs.  Now, they are quiet
and require less regular maintenance when compared
with gas engines of a similar size.
2.  Diesel engines are more rugged and reliable.
3.  There is no sparking at all as the fuel
ignites.  The absence of spark plubs or spark
wires also helps to lower maintenance cost.
4.  The fuel cost produced is 30 - 50 percent
lower than gas engine fuel prices.
5.  Gas burns hotter than diesel, and
therefore they have a shorter life span when they
are compared with diesel engines.

Of course, the mentality that you keep during the game and after the game is also important.  If the team isn't doing so well during the game, you want to make sure to keep this in perspective.  Over reacting, yelling, and telling the players that they aren't doing good enough will most likely end badly with some loss of self-esteem after the game.  Even if your team looses, you will want to make sure to set an example.  Keeping the game as just a game, and looking at the efforts that all of the members are making when they play will help both you and them to learn every time they play.

Even when the ball isn't on your side of the court, it is important to be ready for it to get there.  Hitting back at exactly the right time is an important defensive rule for any volleyball game.  There are several techniques that can be used for the defense part of volleyball; all which will help prevent the team from missing the hit.

The first thing that will need to be done as a defensive team is to be ready for the serve.  The best way to do this is to make sure that everyone is positioned in order to block the ball from falling.  Being in a position where knees are slightly bent and the legs are ready to move in any direction is a good beginning.  Generally, you will want to make sure that both the front line and back line are covering a wide range of space and are able to hit the ball.  Often times, coaches will have the front line step slightly back and have the back line step forward in order to cover the space that is needed.

After everyone is set in the right positions, they will need to be ready to attack the ball when it gets to their side.  This will begin by being ready for the attack.    It is best to get the ball when it is right below your chin.  This will make it easier to hit, and you will be able to do so with more power.  You will also want to get under the ball in order to keep it off the ground and going towards the other side of the court.  

From here, the most important part of playing defensively is to block the ball.  Each player should act like the ball is coming towards them, and should be ready to stop it from a fall when they see it.  Part of the blocking may be to make sure that if a block is missed, someone else grabs the ball.  Other players should be ready to block the ball by the net, just in case it comes too close to hitting the net and falling.

By being prepared and paying attention for the serve, a game can easily take the turn from a defensive line to an offensive one.  If your team is getting ready to receive a ball from the other side, you will want to make sure that they are also ready to defend their territory.  By doing this, they will be able to set the ball like they want and get it away from where they don't want the ball.

interest to the listeners or viewers of the program--perhaps even

saving them time and money.

Other ways of getting free or very inexpensive exposure include

the posting of advertising circulars on all free bulletin boards

in your area, especially the coin-operated laundries, grocery

stores, and beauty and barber shops. Don't discount the idea of

handing out circulars to all the shoppers in busy shopping

centers and malls, especially on weekends. You can also enlist the

aid of the middle school students in your area to had out

circulars door-to-door.

Some of the more routine methods include having a promotional ad

relative to your product or service printed on the front or back

of your envelopes at the time you have them printed with your

return address.

Be sure to check all the publications that carry the kind of

advertising you need. Many mail order publications just getting

started offer unusually low rates to first-time advertisers; a

free-of-charge insertion of your ad when you pay for an order to

run three issues or more; or special seasonal ad space at greatly

reduced rates. And there are a number of publications that will

Colleges have tremendous circulation of their bulletins and

newspapers. Their price per run on advertising is very

inexpensive for the number of prospects reached. Believe it or

not, multi-millions of dollars are spent by students each

semester.

If you have a new idea or product, run a test ad in one or more

of the publications and see if you get results. Usually a less

expensive 1" ad will let you know whether your product or

service is going to pull or not. If your test ad proves

successful, then you may want to go to a larger ad or even a

display-type ad and increase your coverage to include more

bulletins and newspapers.

Another way to distribute your product is to advertise for a

student on campus to represent you on a commission basis and  be

your dealer. Usually there are several students who would love

to have the opportunity to make some extra money. A good way to

find  the right person is by resume qualifications or actually

calling them on the phone and talking it over with them.

Finding the key person could result in many easy dollars in your

pocket.

In the past, some of the biggest sellers on campus have been

radio and stereo equipment, music tapes, car repair manuals,

study aids, self-improvement booklets and tapes, school fads of

various natures, and any kind of special or different steins for

drinking beer. Any new idea or product you may be able to come

up with could be very advantageous to you in the form of

increased sales.

Advertising in college bulletins and newspapers gains more

results during the first three days of the week. When ordering

advertising, it is best to specify that your ad appear in the

Monday-Wednesday editions. Thursday is okay, but Friday is

definitely out; minds seem to drift toward plans for the

weekend, leaving little interest for purchasing.

Write to the enclosed list of publications. Ask for their rates

and circulation. All  of them will respond to your needs and

many of them will call you and discuss whatever plans you have

for advertising. They will work with you to try to see that you

get the most response from any type ad you may run.
